Fivesparks is excited to bring professional artist Carol Anne Grotrian to Harvard for a one day workshop on dyeing silk scarves.
Sample several techniques while dyeing two or three silk scarves in lovely colors & patterns. Learn the basics of ancient indigo blue as well as dyeing the bright colors of modern fiber reactive dyes. We’ll also pattern the scarves with some basic shibori, a traditional Japanese form of tie-dye.
Bring kitchen rubber gloves, a roll of paper towels, a plastic quart container and a small bucket to class. Wear old clothes and bring a lunch. Class is limited to 10 students.
